Reylo: “You’re Not Alone”

Reylo fans have taught us how to view the world in a new light. What is Reylo? Reylo is a shipping name for two main characters in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Rey and Kylo Ren. Whether you are already a Reylo and part of the Reylo fandom or hearing the term for the first time, revisit the classics from a different perspective. Examine today’s world in contrast to when the first Star Wars movie premiered in 1977.
You will leave challenged in what you may have taken for granted. Dive deep into the fangirl experience, going beyond the perception of wild, screaming, crying teenage girls. These fans are all ages, all genders and all races. Learn about fan fiction, fan art, and digital aspects few audiences explore. The Reylo community spans the world, there is no boundary in the Reylo fandom. This is a world-wide inclusive community that embraces people from all walks of life. They have been inspired to explore themes from the movies creatively whether through fiction or art.
Our world today is more diverse and we place more value on inclusion and equity. This exhibition was developed for fans just like you, who love the movies, the characters, and the drama. There are three sections in the exhibit– The Romance, The Story and the Fans. The Romance highlights fanart that references fine art pieces and puts them together all within the theme of ‘forbidden love’. The Story highlights Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi (2017) with concept art, movie props, official merchandise that feature Rey and Kylo Ren and monitors to revisit moments from the movie.
“You’re not alone”, a quote from The Last Jedi said to Rey by Kylo Ren, her supposedly sworn enemy in a tender moment between the two characters. But also, a quote for anyone who feels different, that you are not alone, you are never alone.
