Cosplay - Fans wearing costumes that look like what their favorite character wears, or a representation of an object or blending two types of media together into one outfit

Doxxing - Finding out a person’s real name, address, workplace, etc. and releasing it online for the purpose of sending hate to that person, a terrible crime

Fandom - A group of fans can apply generally in that you being a fan of something puts you in the fandom, there are also sub-categories such as Disney fandom, fans who love Disney, or Reylo fandom

Fanon - An element in a story that is not confirmed to be true by the creators or the plot but is accepted by the fans as true

Fanvid - A video made by a fan, usually about a ship with a song that the fan

Headcanon - An element in a story that is not confirmed to be true by the creators or the plot but is a fan’s personal belief, this can become a fanon if enough fans believe it to be true.

Manip - Means manipulated picture, fans put their ship together in gifs and images to imagine new scenarios in the story or to create new stories

Mary Sue - A term used for “overpowered” female character, “Rey is such a Mary Sue because she can use the Force so early in the film!”

Reylo - A group of fans who like the pairing of Rey and Kylo Ren from the sequel Star Wars movies

Shipping - The act of liking a relationship, whether the ship is in the storyline or imagined by the fans
